In fact, House Beautiful recently had a contest to see which of these trends would come out on top in a popular vote (spoiler alert: it was Cottagecore!). This incredibly popular trend showcases a nostalgic look in home decor. It highlights florals, more traditional motifs, and lots of texture. You’ll see woven styles like caning, natural materials like stone, and cozy textures. Personality Type: This is definitely your decorating style if you love the great outdoors, if you love the country and glamping, and if you’re into vacationing at the mountains or lakeside instead of on the coast.

Quiet luxury focuses on quality over anything else. It’s a look that showcases understated elegance, the best materials and craftsmanship, special antiques, and a calming style. Personality Type: If you love the finer things in life, this look is for you. You would be the type to use your “good china” every day, to make every moment special, and to collect the very best things that you can. You would value art and artisans over things that merely fill space.

This isn’t your usual beach house decor - it’s a more sophisticated and elevated look that takes its inspiration from the shore. There are fewer obvious decor items like sailboats or ocean scenes, and more textural statements and quiet palettes. Personality Type: If you love a good Nancy Meyers movie (like the Hamptons beach house in Something's Gotta Give) then this look is for you. You want relaxing interiors that soothe you just like the sound of waves on the beach, but you want a more modern and chic style that shows your personality.
