The Year of the Chandelier
House Beautiful has named 2026 as the Year of the Statement Chandelier, and I could not agree more. A light fixture isn’t just functional in a well-designed space. It should also showcase as much personality as the other major items in the room. Think of it as another opportunity for an artistic moment. Here are a few of my favorite statement pieces!

Vintage Style
One of my favorite ways to source unique chandeliers is at an antique market. You may have to pay for a bit of rewiring but it’s really worth it to get something that you cannot find anywhere else. For my Kensington project above, I shopped one of the largest antiques and vintage markets in London. It was so worth it for the amazing pieces like this glass and brass design.

Linear Looks
For a modern statement, nothing grabs attention more than a linear design. Like a Calder mobile, the chandelier I chose for my Cherry Hills project can move and change depending on the perspective. It still provides plenty of light while offering a moveable visual feast!

Go Natural
Natural materials like shell, rope, wood, and sisal can craft stunning chandeliers. For my coastal project, I found a capiz shell fixture that really sets the tone for the decor. Once it’s turned on, the glow really makes the shells stand out!

Textural Designs
Texture is another key ingredient for making a style statement, like the chalky finish on the stunning chandelier I had shipped to my project’s job site. It adds so much to the leaf-and-branch motif and I can’t wait to show you how it looks installed!
