Most Requested Renovations

Because of the pandemic and everyone spending so much time at home, there are a couple of rooms that have become incredibly popular for renovations. In fact, it’s almost hard to find crews to do demos or help with tile or plumbing because there are so many jobs happening at once. One of the most requested renovations? Definitely bathrooms!

It makes complete sense because there is a much stronger focus on washing hands and keeping things germ-free. I’m being asked to add powder rooms (yes, that means a second in many homes) so there are plenty of places to wash up. But style is still important! And you know I like to make a statement in rooms like these.

We’re focusing more on ways to reduce germs in bathrooms now, too, including walk-in showers that require no curtains or doors. That keeps the surfaces to a minimum, reducing your chances of touching something that might have bacteria on it. That’s something my clients rarely thought of before, but it is top-of-mind now.

When choosing surface materials around sinks, I always remind my clients that natural stone is naturally resistant to bacteria. So the marble slab above is a perfect material to use.

The other component that clients want to focus on in bathroom renovations right now is the idea of relaxation and stress reduction. We are living in difficult times and our daily stress has gone WAY up. So having a spa bathroom like the one above can really help to ease your worries from the day.
