Fire It Up!

There is nothing more atmospheric than a warm fire, especially as we head into the winter season and the holidays. It’s finally getting cool enough in Houston to think about lighting a fire, so fireplace makeovers are on my mind! No matter what style of home you have, there is a fireplace design to match it. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites!

Traditional Design

In a Houston living room above, I mixed traditional styles and antiques with more modern art and accessories. So the mantel I chose has those classic touches like columns and scrolls. The stone continues up the wall to the high ceiling, offering a grounding effect.

Modern Design

For a London apartment, I had the surround covered with a beautiful green tile. It creates a more modern look that works perfectly with the rug and chic furnishings. It’s also a sleek and clean style that I love.

Transitional Design

Sometimes you don’t want the fireplace to be the sole focal point in a room, so a quieter approach is key. A transitional style offers timeless design, but without embellishment. It’s a simple, but gorgeous, design.

Coastal Design

I love to create an unexpected look, so rather than going with the usual wood or textured coastal fireplace, I created a sleek marble surround that’s both sophisticated and exciting! But it also creates a wave effect with the veining, which is a subtle nod to the home’s location.

Lodge Design

For my Telluride project, I wanted to include the style and texture of the mountain range just outdoors. So this beautiful rustic fireplace design was perfect for the living room.
