Rugs really finish a room’s design! They offer a subtle backdrop or can be the star of the show. But they also have to function perfectly, giving you a soft landing in rooms and repelling wear and tear. That’s a lot to ask! Luckily there are so many stunning rugs in all sorts of amazing materials to choose from. And I’m seeing 3 rug designs that are definitely hot hot hot right now - let’s take a look!

1. Bold Florals

Big and bold floral patterns are definitely having a moment. This is a more modern look, with single big blooms rather than fussy patterns that overwhelm the space. In my Kensington project above, I showcased the room’s color palette in a gorgeous floral rug that highlights and enhances the living room’s style. It doesn’t seem too forward because there’s also lots of negative space, so it’s a fresher look.

2. Antique Style Rugs

The look of an antique rug is so on-trend for today’s interiors. That can be an official vintage piece that is handknotted and designed to last, or a newer rug that has an antique-style pattern. Either way, this design fits well into cottagecore, grandmacore, traditional, and modern spaces! In my Morningview kitchen above, an antique runner offers a soft space for the cook in the kitchen, but also delivers a winning style recipe.

3. Tactile Designs

Any sort of raised pattern or tactile look is very very IN! Not only do these rugs offer softness and a fabulous feeling, but they also give you a visual dimension. They’re like small works of art on the floor! I designed the modern art look above for my Champions project, adding both style and an interesting design to the guest bedroom.
