The Charm of a Bunk Room

Bunk rooms are having a moment. They’re even being seen in some of the hippest hotels around the world. And there’s a reason for that. Not only are they nostalgic - reminding us of when we were kids and bunk rooms were fun - but they just make sense for families and guests. I’ve designed bunk rooms in several of my projects, and here’s why I love them!

1. Maximizing Space

Because the beds are stacking, bunk rooms offer a lot of style in a smaller footprint. That means you can use the extra space for a play area, a conversation zone, or any other purpose that you need! For kid-focused rooms, I like to add in a space for toys and game play!

2. Cozy Vibes

Because of the nostalgia factor, bunk rooms are always cozy. They also create little nooks and corners for curling up with a book and having quiet moments. Add in lots of quilts and fabulous linens and you’ve got places where kids and family will want to hang out.

3. The More the Merrier

But of course one of the most important things about a bunk room is that it can handle so many more guests than a traditional guest bedroom. Bunk beds give you lots of spaces for grandkids, young adults, and guests, making it a room that’s perfect for holidays and celebrations, too.
