Making the Most of Outdoor Lounging

We’re finally back to warmer weather and entertaining outdoors! This is my favorite time of the year as we redesign and refresh outdoor living areas for our clients. After a long year of lockdowns and quarantines, moving outdoors is healthier for us, both physically and mentally! Here are some tips for great lounging on your patio, porch, or terrace.

Showcase a View

If you have an amazing view - whether it’s a lake, the beach, or even your garden - position comfortable chairs so they face that view. Not only will it soothe the soul, it will also keep you and your guests in your seats longer. Keep tables, drinks, and pillows at hand so everyone is comfy and has what they need.

Create Sun Spots

To soak up as much of that Vitamin D as you can, it’s great to have super-comfy loungers. Don’t forget extra pillows, and light throws for those spring breezes. I love loungers with adjustable backs - that allows them to sit up for conversation, or recline for a bit of snoozing.

Design an Outdoor Room

The best way to convince your family and friends to move outdoors is to give them the same chic design that they’ll find inside the home. Moving outside gives us the option to entertain with a few more people, which is fantastic after so much time away from friends! Above, I created a plush seating area that includes plenty of tables for drinks and plates, and two ottomans that can sub in for extra seating as needed.

Make It Special

For an extra-special outdoor lounge area, I created a custom hanging daybed above. It is designed for maximum comfort and rest, with a unique look that you won’t find just anywhere. With a cushion covered with outdoor fabric, this will be a gorgeous getaway on a sun porch for years to come.
