4 Tips for Luxe Laundry Rooms

What sets a normal room’s design apart from a wow-worthy room? It’s all about the details, functionality, and out-of-the-box ideas. In a laundry room, where it’s all about functionality, I like to add details that go beyond the washer and dryer. Here are 4 ideas that will take your laundry room from everyday to luxe!

1. Upgrade Your Storage

Rather than having the normal containers for detergents and dryer sheets, use storage pieces that upgrade the look of your laundry space. In the coastal room above, I used white kitchen containers to store the key laundry essentials, as well as baskets for extra towels and blankets. It makes this laundry room look much more impressive!

2. CONSIDER CUSTOM

One of my most popular posts on social media has been the drying racks I designed for the laundry room in my Erin Knoll project. These pull-out drawers have screened inserts that allow air to circulate around the clothing items. It’s a custom design idea that’s perfect for my client’s delicate items! What would you love to have in your laundry room? Custom design can make it happen!

3. Add a Sink

A wash sink in the laundry is such a fabulous addition. It gives you a place to rinse or pretreat heavily soiled items, and an area for washing delicates. My clients always wonder how they ever survived without this sink once we’ve added it to their home’s design!

4. Consider Entertainment

We spend a lot of hours doing laundry - especially if you have kids or a large family. So why not add a television to the laundry room, to help keep you entertained while you fluff and fold?

Use these ideas to uplevel your laundry room, and make a boring chore more fun!
