You know I’m continually inspired by fashion trends for my interior design, so I always have my eye on what’s happening on the runways. One interesting move is the growing influence of Los Angeles and its impact on the fashion world. In fact, this season Rodarte joined Tommy Hilfiger and Emporio Armani in skipping New York Fashion Week for their own Los Angeles shows! So let’s take a look at my favorite designs and top trends from La La Land!

Rodarte’s collection was very feminine and romantic. Its pinks and yellows embellished with bows and butterflies were all right at home in the show’s setting at the Huntington Library and BotanicalGardens in Pasadena.

Rachel Zoe hit on another big trend for LA fashion - white, white, and white! The cool and clean color is everywhere for spring.

Interestingly, Alexa Chung’s newest collection was completely inspired by Los Angeles. She wanted her clothes to reflect that more relaxed and funky atmosphere.

An up-and-coming LA brand, Elie Madi, is also showing one of the hot trends for fashion and home - lots of embellishments. Pearls are really coming into their own again, and are a great complement to the all-white palette for spring.

So what are the interior design takeaways from all of this LA style? We’re seeing them already with the boho-inspired maximalist trend and the embellishments on fabrics and draperies. I think a more feminine perspective is on its way to the home, too! What do you think?

Warmly,
