Top Trends for Kitchens & Baths

The rooms that most people want to makeover in their homes are kitchens and bathrooms. And they also happen to be two spaces that I love to design! I’m always looking for new ideas for renovation and at the recent Kitchen & Bath show in Las Vegas, I got so much inspiration for new technology and looks. Here are my top 4 trends for kitchen and bath design!

Viking range

1. Bold Color

No more rules when it comes to color in the kitchen - you can have ANY color you want! And you can have that bold color on appliances, on stone counters, on cabinetry and even on your sink. Every single color in the rainbow was seen at KBIS.

Kohler

2. Fun Shapes

Color wasn’t the only bold statement being made - you’re going to see a lot of great shapes in the kitchens and bathrooms of the future, too. Scallops, pillars, rounded corners and fluting are just a few great shapes that I saw on the show floor.

Top Knobs

3. Dramatic Hardware

Fanciful hardware used to only be available as a custom look or on a piece of furniture. But now your imagination can run wild for your kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities. I loved these curved rams heads from Top Knobs.

Bertazzoni

4. Mixed Metals

You used to only see one finish in a kitchen, and that was usually stainless. But now you have permission to mix things up! I love the combination of polished brass, matte pewter, and shiny nickel on the Bertazzoni range you see above.
