There's Nothing Spooky About Black!

There was a time that only disaffected teenagers would consider painting their rooms black - but we’ve finally gotten over that attitude! Black is a bold color, for sure, but if you’re looking for a way to add drama, there’s no better shade. Here are my tips for how to use black in your home!

1. Start Small

If you’re nervous about the color, try it out in a small space like a powder room. It really has a major impact in a room like this, and it is a space that you won’t have to go into all the time. But with results like the powder room above - you’re going to be thrilled!

2. Accessorize It

You can also test you tolerance for bold black by bringing it in with accessories and small accent items. I absolutely love the contrast between the black and white in the kitchen above - it’s so chic!

3. Give It an Artful Touch

Black is a PERFECT color for the backdrop to art! Pulp Design Studios’ team are experts at using black paint, as you can see above. Look at how the art just leaps off the wall with that black accent. Fabulous!

4. Go for It!

Or just go for it! Paint the entire room black and make a bold statement. In the room above, it creates a moody and actually cozy space. Rather than being depressing, this is a space you want to curl up in. Make your statement in your home by going for the bold!

5. Set the Table

And if you’re still not convinced, try some bold black tableware this fall to set a dramatic table. I love the plates above because the texture adds so much dimension and depth.

So what do you think? Would you be willing to give bold black a try? Let me know in the comments below!
