The Magic of Small Seating

Small seats make a BIG impact, no matter which room you use them in. But what do I mean by “small seats?” Any multifunctional seat that takes up a small amount of room, like a stool, an ottoman, or a bench. These pieces give you so much more, whether you use them as an extra perch, another surface, or a place to rest your feet. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites!

Small Ottomans

These are such multifunctional wonders - I love to use them in many of my projects. They can be tucked out of sight when they aren’t needed, and then pulled out to serve almost any purpose. Be sure you select a design that slides easily around the floor.

Shower Stool

A fabulous teak or resin shower stool makes your spa-bath experience even better. You can use it as another surface for soaps and supplies, as a seat for relaxing and letting the stress melt away, or as a perch for shaving your legs. This is one small design that makes a big difference.

Small Bench

A small bench is fantastic in a bedroom. I offer these as a great place for putting on your shoes in the morning, or to hold extra blankets for cool evenings. My clients also tell me that they love to have these for pets - they can use the bench as their own place for snoozes.

Circular Ottoman

This is one ottoman that can remain as the center of attention! It is a triple threat, serving as a seat, a table, or a footrest. I like to use a tighter upholstery on this type of ottoman so it will safely hold drinks, a tray, or books, too.

Do you have any small seating that you love in your home? Tell me about it in the comments section below!

Warmly,
