Selecting the Perfect Bed

Bedrooms should be dreamy spaces that help you get the rest you need, but are also a gorgeous focal point for the room’s decor. There’s an art to selecting a bed frame that’s much more than just deciding if you want a king sized bed or a queen. Here are 4 important things to consider when you select your next bed!

1. Comfort Really Is King

If you read in bed, or sit up to watch TV, you need a comfortable and supportive headboard. And that means an upholstered bed! In the photo above, the back of the bed almost looks like a sofa, right?! The deep tufting and that little arm on the side are both going to make this the perfect lounging destination!

2. Make It the Design Focus

Most eyes are drawn to the bed when someone enters a bedroom - after all, it’s the largest thing in the room! So be sure that it stands out. You want it to set the tone for the room’s design. In the beach house bedroom above, the bed frame I selected highlights the idea of coastal decor. So right away there’s a cohesive look that makes a statement!

3. Materials Matter

Texture is so important to interior design, and a bed’s design can definitely bring that element into the room. The iron bed I found for my client, above, has a great mix of materials. Both the fabric and the metal offer different textures that add interest and style!

4. Shape It Up

The photo above is a sneak peek into a new project of mine (shhhhh)! The headboard’s shape is so gorgeous and adds a feminine, curvy touch. I also wrapped the entire frame in the same fabric for a fantastic color moment.

Use these ideas to find your perfect bed frame. Sweet dreams!

Warmly,

Beth
