One of the strongest interior design trends heading into 2019 is natural stone surfaces, particularly marble. Always on trend for kitchens and bathrooms (I like to use as much as I can for each), it’s moving into other areas of the home as well, and this marble loving gal couldn’t be happier about it. Let’s explore, shall we?
I told you I love marble! The above bathroom is my updated take on Roman baths of antiquity. Separate rooms to soak, steam/shower and relax, all surrounded by the luxury of marble. Added bonus, I love the glow of the natural stone under the walk-in shower’s skylight.
The geometric inlaid marble floors in the photo above make a powerful entry hall statement!
I’m crazy for the idea of marble moldings and trim around a door... and what a door!
I gasped when I first saw this honed marble staircase by Joseph Dirand (he might be the master of modern marble).
How about a marble chandelier? Or a vase? A much more versatile material - or look - than you might think!
Maybe a set of 8 Rick Owens side chairs for your dining table? Just be sure you like where you first put them, because they are staying there!
One thing I’m definitely coveting is a sleek, modern, marble fireplace mantel...
