Fresh Air

Yes we are social distancing and working from home, but just because we are home bound during this crazy time doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our outdoor spaces if the weather is warm! Take a walk in your neighborhood, have breakfast on your patio, or sit in the sun on your urban balcony while answering work emails from home! Fresh air, little or no pollution or exhaust, and plenty of vitamin D is probably the healthiest thing we can do.

So today, in honor of the first official day of spring, I’m giving you ideas for how to freshen up your outdoor spaces with what you have there at home.

If you have a bar cart or other rolling table, move it to the patio or porch. You can use it for a grown-up cocktail hour, or to serve lemonade to your kids while they’re burning off energy outside. You can also use it for your vintage record player so you can play your albums outside - think about what would make you happy and go for it!

Bring your indoor pillows and throws outdoors - the more the merrier. Create cozy seating, even on adirondack chairs. And those throws will come in handy if it’s still a little chilly where you are.

Your indoor plants need fresh air, too! Bring them out in the sun, along with accessories and candles. Create that same indoor feeling outside. The candles will also give you fabulous light in the evening. Or pull out a floor lamp with an extension cord. Make yourself an outdoor oasis!

If you don’t have an outdoor table, pull one from inside your home. This is the perfect time to enjoy your family meals outside. Use the good china. Dress the table with linens and flowers. Make it as festive as possible because we all deserve a little fun right now.

I’m thinking of you and your family!

Warmly,

Beth
