Possibly the the most influential architect of the 20th century, Mies Van Der Rohe, famously said “God is in the details,” and he certainly wasn’t wrong. The tiniest of details in design can elevate a home from merely pretty to heavenly perfection.
One of my favorite inspired details is hardware. I think many DIY renovators and builders can view hardware as an afterthought, but to me hardware is often the place I draw my inspiration from, whether I’m designing something as small as a nightstand, or as large as a kitchen. Let’s take a look at a few hardware products that are inspiring me right now!
I am loving these celestially inspired pulls from Pulp Design Studios (above), especially in their new matte brass and matte black finishes. They are mid-century perfection!
And these cubist inspired pulls from Du Verre (below) are giving me all kinds of ideas to design a room around them. They also really look like jewelry, don’t they?
In a more classicist vein, these faux tortoise and lucite pull from Eddie Ross x Addison Weeks are giving me Deco fantasies. They’d be so lovely on a ladies vanity or in a powder room.
Nest Studio also has lovely, glamorous hardware that excites my creative eye. Their octagon pull (below left) is a particular favorite. I’m looking forward to placing them in a client’s space!
These exquisite knurled pulls from Buster & Punch come in an 18” version that would be perfect for a gentlemen’s closet.
