3 Reasons to Consider a Floating Vanity

There are so many options for bathroom cabinetry and it can be overwhelming to make a decision. That’s where I come in! I always talk through how my clients use every room, including the bathroom, to decide what cabinetry, plumbing, tile, and other selections wold be best for them. Floating vanities have become more popular in the last few years, and I love the way they look. They can definitely help the functionality in a bathroom, too. Here are three reasons for why you should consider using a floating vanity in your powder room or primary bathroom!

1. Bathroom Looks Bigger

In a small room, like a powder bath, space is at a premium so you want to make the most of what you have. A floating vanity creates the illusion of more space because it opens up the area under the sink. And generally you don’t need as much storage in a powder room, too, so a floating vanity is perfect. You can see above how tight it is between the toilet and the sink, so the open space makes a big difference.

2. Accommodate Any Height

This is a really important reason to consider a floating vanity, and one that people don’t often think of. Unlike traditional bathroom cabinetry that comes in specific heights, a floating cabinet can be custom fitted at any height. That’s important if you have very tall or very short people in your house. It makes them feel like the house functions much better for them. And this works for anyone in your house that may use a wheelchair, too!

3. Clean Style

Neatniks really love a floating vanity. It’s a modern look that also makes the room very easy to clean. You don’t have to try to chase dust bunnies all the way back behind a cabinet. It’s easy to vacuum and mop under a floating vanity. It looks clean and it IS clean!

What do you think of floating vanities? Would you use one in your home? Let me know in the comments section!
