Setting the Perfect Holiday Table

We’re only one week from Thanksgiving, so I’m beginning to plan out tablescapes for my clients and for my own family table. There are so many great ideas out there for setting the perfect table, but here are a few that I love!

Start with the centerpiece. I love fresh flowers on the table, particularly when they’re highlighted with containers and extras like colorful fall corn tied with raffia, or acorns and beans in a vase.

I also love the elegance of white pumpkins for the dining table. Placing small pumpkins on candleholders is easy and eye-catching. Chargers are another great opportunity for accents, like an orange pop of color, or even sliced wood chargers for a more rustic feel.

When most people think of fall colors, they think orange, yellow, red, and brown. But don’t forget about non-traditional fall colors that lend a more feminine feel for the holidays, like grey polka dots with pinecones, or even plums and purples.

Just as fall brings out the layers in our apparel, it inspires a lovely use of texture in design. Take a look at the patterns on the table settings below. I love the mix of old and new, a blend of the formal and the informal. Combine your vintage china with new items you picked up at a local boutique to add personality to your table!
