Color Story: I’ve Got the Blues
While musicians would make you believe that having the blues is not a good thing, blues are never ‘bad’ in interior design.
Blue is such a timeless hue, no matter the shade. It is the one color that is always selected as America’s Favorite - the most popular of them all. And it is so versatile; when paired with white, blue can look traditional, nautical, or Grecian. The cobalt wall and deep cornflower bed from Oomph’s Charleston Collection make for a serene space.
Cobalt has become a go-to shade to add a small punch of color to a room in an accent, or to make a bold color statement in a stunning lacquer, like in the design below by Carla Aston. It’s such a brilliant shade and one of my absolute favorites.
Blue pairs well with just about any color to cool down a room or create a bold mood. The Rachel Reider room above uses a traditional blue-and-white pairing in a more modern way, by showcasing several shades of the same hue.
I love all blues but if you'd like to see more of my favorite cobalt color, check out my Cobalt Craving pinboard on Pinterest.
