Reading is one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind. I have stacks and stacks of books throughout my home, and I love to use them as part of the decor, spotlighting how important they are to me.
Not everyone has the space for a full library, but books should always feature in your interior design because they add warmth and personality to the space.
But books shouldn’t be put on a shelf and forgotten about. You can incorporate them directly into a design by styling shelves and stacking books on tables for a chic and personalized space.
Books also can be used as art for a space like this unique library at Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth designed by Thatcher Wine. Yes, those are books in that “painting,” with custom covers that create the look of a photo.
Depending on your love for books and reading, building an art installation with your books could be out of the question, but creating special reading nooks or creatively styling your shelves is something anyone can do.
This multifunctional library featured in Elle Decor is well-edited and has a chic reading nook built right in. Can you imagine a Sunday morning, curled up there with your favorite book and a cup of coffee? Heaven.
